Catering and housekeeping managers join SPI team
The Inn has a new sales & catering manager and a new housekeeping department manager as we start the 2012 Maine vacation season.
Jillian Johnson is the new sales & catering manager. She grew up in North Yarmouth, Maine, and formerly was the assistant food and beverage manager at the Samoset Resort in Rockland. She definitely feels at home here in Boothbay Harbor.
Jillian participated in an early enrollment program at Johnson & Wales University in Providence, R.I., a highly regarded school for business, hospitality and culinary arts. She also worked for three years as food services director at the Bon Secours Retreat and Conference Center in Marriottsville, Md.
Our new housekeeping department manager is Mark Buscanera, who has more than three decades of experience in cleaning and facilities management. He launched Kingdom Cleaning Co. in Mid-coast Maine in 1978, providing cleaning and restoration services for residential and commerce clients such as Maine Atomic Power.
After 25 years, he sold the business, and become a restaurateur. He owned and operated Antony's Italian Cuisine until 2010. For the past two years, he was state supervisor for Bergensons Property Services, a national corporation that takes care of cleaning and facilities management for retail chains include Target, Kmart, JC Penney and Shaw’s Supermarkets.
With that kind of experience, we figure there's no facilities problem that Mark won't be able to handle.
