Conde Nast Traveler’s 2016 Readers’ Choice Award Names Spruce Point Inn #13 Best Resort in the Northeast
One of The World’s Best Hotels, Resorts, Cities, Islands, Airlines and Cruise Lines

Boothbay Harbor, Maine (October 18, 2016) – Condé Nast Traveler today announced the results of its 29th annual Readers’ Choice Awards with Spruce Point Inn, the 56-acre waterfront resort in Boothbay Harbor recognized as the #13 Best Resort in the Northeast, with a score of 93.51.

Over 300,000 dedicated readers – nearly twice as many as last year — cast votes for 7,394 hotels, 606 cities, 500 cruise ships, and 236 islands, in an average survey time of 8.4 minutes. The result? The 1,402 best travel experiences in the world.

“Experienced travelers like those who participate in the Conde Nast Readers Choice Awards process look carefully at their experiences, and rate the accommodations, dining options, recreational opportunities and service,” said Angelo Digiulian, co-owner/innkeeper of Spruce Point Inn with Joe Paolillo. “They also understand what constitutes a unique and authentic investment for their time and money. We are delighted that once again, Spruce Point Inn’s commitment to helping create ‘oceanside memories made in Maine’ resonated so strongly.”

Conde Nast Traveler identified Spruce Point Inn as one of the best resorts in the US for family reunions and top 20 spas in the US in 2015 and as one of the top 25 resorts in the Northeast in 2014.

The Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards are the longest-running and most prestigious recognition of excellence in the travel industry and are commonly known as “the best of the best of travel.” Under Editor in Chief Pilar Guzmán, the Readers’ Choice Awards have become more selective and specific to the passions that inspire today’s travelers.

The Readers’ Choice Awards are announced in the November issue of Condé Nast Traveler, on newsstands nationwide on October 25, 2016. The full list is published exclusively online, at

In addition to Conde Nast Traveler recognition, Spruce Point Inn was named “Best Hotel 2016” by the readers of DownEast Magazine and is a perennial TripAdvisor Award of Excellence winner.
