The Cottages

The nearest thing to a summer home, “housekeeping cottages” became the hallmark of the New England coast and were the hub of many fond childhood memories of summers “at the shore.” Guests return year after year to rekindle those memories in the Cottages at Spruce Point Inn.

These coastal Maine Cottages provide the best of both worlds–the ultimate in privacy with easy access to all the resort amenities, services, and hospitality–in one of the best locations on the Maine coast. Choose a secluded Woodlandview among the spruces: Little Spruce, Oriole, Pelican, Cardinal or Tanager; or select one of the classic Oceanfront options: Sunset, Osprey, or Starboard Cottage. Our cottages in Maine are perfect for couples or families traveling together on an extended stay.

Recently updated with a soothing marine color palette, artwork by well-known local artists, and historical resort photography, each cottage has its own personality, but they all share common elements: private porches with Adirondack chairs, full or galley-style kitchens, snug painted pine-paneled bath(s), separate living rooms with a gas-fired woodstove, brick or rolled-stone fireplace, Maine cottage-style furnishings, and a sprinkling of resort antiques.

All cottages are equipped with plush-top beds and triple-sheeted in crisp linens, LCD flat-screen televisions, iPod docking stations, complementary wireless access, a refrigerator stocked with Poland Spring waters, and a Keurig coffeemaker with an assortment of Green Mountain coffee and teas. All cottages are air-conditioned.

"Little Spruce" by Seacraft

Nestled among old growth spruce forest, the Little Spruce Cottage by SEACRAFT is a charming hideaway for families and couples alike. Vintage block print wallpaper adorns the walls and a cozy wood stove fills the cathedral-ceilinged living room with warmth.

Sheltered in the woods past Linekin and Pemaquid Hall, this cozy woodland view cottage features one bedroom with a king and twin bed and a living room with a pull-out queen sofa. Cathedral ceilings, efficiency-style kitchen, gas stove fireplace, and privacy — make this 810 sq.ft. cottage a treasured gem for return guests.

Osprey Cottage

This oceanfront, three-bedroom cottage is 1,200 square feet. The Osprey Cottage perches above the shoreline with a commanding view of the water stretching out before it. Inside, your cozy nest has three bedrooms with plenty of space for family or friends for an extended visit with a large living room with a pull-out sofa and a spacious eat-in kitchen. The pale blue Master bedroom with hardwood floors is furnished with a King bed and has a pine-lined private bath. The second bedroom with a white pine ceiling has a Queen bed; the third, painted pale yellow, has two Twin beds and shares a hallway bath. Beneath a vaulted ceiling, the airy, pine-paneled living room features a large shore-rolled granite fireplace. The enclosed, full-width porch is a delightful escape. Look directly down the bay, across to Burnt Island Lighthouse, or watch the boats traveling back and forth to Boothbay Harbor from the attached open deck – a great place to enjoy the sunset.

Starboard Cottage

This oceanfront, four-bedroom cottage is 1,400 square feet. Facing southwest with water views across to Squirrel Island and Burnt Island Lighthouse, Starboard is one of the original, free-standing cottages that were converted from private summer homes to guesthouses for the Inn. This two-story cottage has four bedrooms, three baths, and a spacious eat-in kitchen. One bedroom on the first floor is furnished with a queen bed and has its own cozy bath and covered porch. Upstairs is another King bedded room, a bedroom with two Twin beds, and a third bedroom with one Twin. There are two additional bathrooms, one upstairs and one down. The first floor is finished in natural and painted Maine pine walls and hardwood floors and furnished with Maine antiques and cottage-style furniture with a classic brick fireplace. Starboard Cottage has two private entrances and two private porches. There is a queen pull-out sofa in the main living room and a brick fireplace.

Tanager Cottage

This woodland view, three-bedroom cottage is 1,100 square feet. Nestled by the southern fringe of woodlands, this cottage offers three bedrooms and two and a half baths. Two bedrooms, one in washed pine and the other a pale yellow, have Queen beds and one has an additional twin bed. The third bedroom painted pale yellow with a bleached pine ceiling has two Twin beds. Tanager Cottage has two private porches and two entrances. Enjoy a living room with a pull-out sofa, rolled stone fireplace, and kitchenette.

"Pelican" by Seacraft

With a peek at the harbor from its front porch, Pelican Cottage by SEACRAFT is as cozy as it gets. Spend an evening by the fireplace or feel the painted wood floorboards underfoot on your way out for a swim. On the walls, you’ll find artifacts from the coast, including a vintage burgee from the Boothbay Yacht Club.

This charming 700 sq. ft. woodland view cottage is situated just behind the waterfront cottages and features two bedrooms and two full baths. The master bedroom includes a modified cathedral ceiling of pine and a Queen bed. The second bedroom, with two twin beds, includes windows aligned to catch the sea breeze.

Cardinal Cottage

This woodlandview, three-bedroom cottage is 1,100 square feet. Tucked in behind the Main Inn, this cottage has three bedrooms, two and a half baths, and an elevated front porch. Two bedrooms are finished in pale yellow and furnished with Queen beds. The third bedroom with pine walls and a painted pine ceiling has two Twin beds. Cardinal has limited views but is very conveniently located with access to the Inn’s amenities and has three private porches and two entrances. Enjoy a living room with a pull-out sofa, rolled stone fireplace, and kitchenette.

Sunset Cottage

This oceanfront, one-bedroom cottage is 675 square feet. This unique hip-roofed cottage at the corner of Grandview Avenue and Linekin Road was home for a month during the Kennedy Administration to the director of the budget when the President determined he needed a quiet escape and fresh sea air to complete his task. The cottage suite incorporates a Master bedroom with a King bed, pine-paneled bath, living room with rolled stone and granite fireplace, kitchenette, and large windows offering a spectacular view of the beautiful Maine shoreline. The front porch is the perfect retreat for enjoying memorable sunsets. There is a pull-out sofa in the living room.

Oriole Cottage Suite

This woodland view, one-bedroom cottage is 700 square feet. Located on a woodland corner between the Modern Lodges and Townhouses, Oriole Cottage is both private and readily accessible to all of the resort’s amenities, especially the Spa, Lighthouse Recreation Hall, and the forestside pool. This cottage suite features a bright, pine-paneled master bedroom with a King bed and vaulted ceiling. The adjacent pine-paneled sleeping alcove is reminiscent of a boat cabin, with a twin bed. Perfect for two or a small family. There is a living room with a pull-out sofa and rolled stone fireplace as you enter the accommodation. A kitchenette is also available.
