Meet Duncan Conway

Conway is a Hudson-Valley based artist whose work primarily showcases two mediums: acrylic paint and thread. He aims to contrast the fine detail of his painted realism with simplified figurative forms, embroidered into the canvas, as a nod to craft traditions. Self-taught, Conway has freelanced as an artist for seven years, refining his signature style characterized by vibrant, large scale works of art. Drawing inspiration from the complex patterns found both in nature and urban landscapes, his summers on Martha’s Vineyard and his experience living in spirited cities like New Orleans and New York for shaping much of the imagery in his work.
